It is crucial that the devout Christian commit to reading the Bible daily. It is not only a command by God, it has several benefits to lead a strong faith filled life. The Bible is God's Word, written down by men but breathed by God's own inspiration into the hearts of men. It's is important to read it because we are devoted to God's principles and not simply because it is our duty.

We can depend on the source of hope and faith we receive from reading the Bible daily. It brings the downtrodden heart comfort and encouragement during the most difficult times.

The character and sovereignty of God is revealed to those who read and meditate on Biblical principles daily.

The Godly principles found in scripture provides guidance on how to lead good lives, how to better handle life's difficult situations, and how to have an intimate relationship with God.

As we read the Bible more consistently, we develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of who God is, which results in awe, love, gratitude, and appreciation for God and His principles.

As we continue to read and become more versed with each theme of the Bible, we find that God is holy, faithful, loving, merciful, and unchanging.

If we understand everything I have shared to be true, then we must, in submission to the truth, render ourselves students of the Word of God. This doesn't mean that we need to understand every bit of it or that we must become scholars. In fact, reading the Bible in faith and expectancy is the key to allowing revelation to be our guide. The Holy Spirit is the one who reveals the character and love of God through the scriptures.

Reading Scripture daily is a very good thing. It changes our outlook, attitude, and perspective on life. The more we read, the more we learn that our goals and desires are redirected from a self-centered approach to a more servant-leader perspective. We organically begin to transform into better versions of ourselves and start to behave in the likeness of who God has created us to be. It is like we get insight into ourselves, the more we get insight into the heart of God for His creation. We begin to live on purpose and find eternal purpose in our daily lives.

PRAYER: Father, inspire and motivate me to have a desire to get to know You through reading Your Word and internalizing it so that I can begin to grow in awe and adoration for both You and Your principles. I want to lead a faith filled and purposeful life moving forward. We ask faithfully in Jesus' name. Amen

Here are three Bible verses that encourage us to make daily Bible reading a priority.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

1 Timothy 4:13-15 NIV

13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.

Mark 13:31 NIV

31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
